The Ground In Buda
Spray Heads Or A Drainfield In Buda?
Buda is one of the few towns where the ground changes inside the city limits, and the line is I-35. Which side of it your house sits on decides whether there are spray heads in the yard or a drainfield under it.
West of the interstate, thin soil sits on limestone. To the east sits Houston Black clay that barely drains. Texas rules call for two feet of good soil under a drainfield trench. Neither side gives that easily, so many Buda homes end up with an aerobic unit.

That's an aerobic unit, and it runs on moving parts that need somebody watching them. Every aerobic pump-out includes a check of the aerator, spray heads and control panel, which catches a part on its way out before the spray quits. We also leave some of the contents in the tank, because its bacteria are what clean the water before it reaches the spray heads.
If You Have A Tank And A Drainfield
