For a conventional septic system, you need to commit to regular pumping (typically every 3-5 years), protecting your home (drain or leach) field, not overloading your system, and not flushing anything harmful down the drain.

For aerobic systems, you need to commit to regular inspections (at least once a year), an advantage maintenance plan (to keep it running smoothly), and be diligent to monitor alarms to prevent further issues.

For both types of system a commitment to care will keep things running smoothly for years.

You’ll have to check with your local HomeField for exact pricing details on the Advantage Plans they offer, but usually there are annual and monthly rate options, so you can decide what makes the most sense for you and your budget.
